Artist Statement
I paint the way some keep a journal. The canvas is my diary pages, a manifestation board, and a mirror that reveals the truth of who I am. My art is how I process and translate the world, how I give the psyche a shape. Each time I sit down to paint, I nurture my spirit, come home to myself, and express feelings I cannot yet put into words. My creativity has always been a rebellion, shaped by my experience as a trans person in a culture that demonizes nonconformity. To create requires courage, and my practice is how I choose to live in truth, even when that truth dismantles the world around me.
I am cultivating a new world, curating and transforming culture through the act of painting itself. My art is the blueprint for the world I want to help build. I am nature, painting the new earth into existence—a vision of what we can build together.
